Two Factor Authentication

Two Factor Authentication is an additional security level for your Leap Ticketing account.

Two Factor Authentication (2FA) is an additional security level for your account. When enabled, after you login, you will be asked to verify yourself via a second channel.

Enabling 2FA protects your data and your customers data by requiring a second device in order to login.

Setting up 2FA can be done from your account settings page: Settings > My Account.

Event Ticketing offers three different methods of 2FA:

  • SMS - Upon logging in, you'll be sent a text message to your mobile phone with an 8 digit code to be entered in on the login screen.
  • Google Authenticator - You'll need to download the Google Authenticator app onto another device, usually a mobile phone. When logging into Event Ticketing, you'll be prompted to enter the code that is currently on your Google Authenticator app.*
  • Yubikey U2F - Yubico devices are universal two-factor devices that can be plugged into a computer. Upon logging in, you'll be prompted to connect your Yubico device to the device on which you're logging in.
  • WebAuthn- is a standard developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to provide strong and easy-to-use authentication for web applications. It enables web applications to use public key cryptography to authenticate users with hardware security keys or biometric authentication methods.
    • Note: To use WebAuthn as a 2FA method you must first set up 2FA with SMS or Google Authenticator

Note: Leap recommends using Google Authenticator, because it is available offline and can be used onsite at events where reception and connectivity may be limited.
