Event Payment Processing Explained

Leap Ticketing currently employs two different methods for event organisers to be paid for ticket sales, each with certain advantages depending on the type of event(s) you’re running.

Payment Processing

Leap Event Ticketing Payment Processing could be considered the easiest solution for event organisers. When you opt to use Leap Event Payment Processing, Leap collects funds using our credit card facility and store these in trust until your event is complete (usually within 3-5 business days following your event). Leap then pays you a lump sum via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) to your nominated account. Leap will automatically deduct any service fees and delivery fees charged to buyers from the settlement amount leaving you with no more fees or other costs.

Bring Your Own Merchant Account: Stripe

Stripe is a great way for you to process ticket sales and have access to ticketing revenue prior to your event. When you opt to use Stripe you becoming the merchant on record, meaning that you’re responsible for ticket buyers getting what they paid for. When your account is set to use Stripe for payment processing Leap will act like a software provider, giving your and your ticket buyers support before, during and after your event. You’ll be responsible for setting refund, privacy and event policies; also ensuring that the booking fee you’re charging customers covers costs like Stripe’s credit card fee and Leap's billing fees. To use Stripe you’ll need to create a Stripe account, it usually takes around 5 minutes to complete and can be connected to your Leap Event Ticketing account right away.

Bring Your Own Merchant Account: Paypal

Paypal is another great way for you to process ticket sales and have access to ticketing revenue prior to your event. When you opt to use Paypal you becoming the merchant on record, meaning that you’re responsible for ticket buyers getting what they paid for. When your account is set to use Paypal for payment processing Leap will act like a software provider, giving your and your ticket buyers support before, during and after your event. You’ll be responsible for setting refund, privacy and event policies; also ensuring that the booking fee you’re charging customers covers costs like Stripe’s credit card fee and Leap's billing fees. To use Paypal you’re required to have a Paypal Business or Paypal Premiere account (personal accounts will not work).

When you use a 3rd party merchant account such as Paypal or Stripe Leap will collect direct debit details from you prior to going on sale so that we can bill you for our fees (as all service fees charged to your customers will also be deposited into your bank account).
