Tracking Tags

For Australia

Tracking Tags are codes used to monitor sales from different campaigns. A URL with a tracking tag applied will look something like this:

  • Classic: https://events.ticketbooth.com.au/event/[event_shortname]/tag/[Custom_Tag]
  • Event Listing: https://events.ticketbooth.com.au/tickets/[event_shortname]/tag/[Custom_Tag]

All completed transactions from tagged URLs are recorded. These tags are created on your account and can be applied to any event or series, but the tracking tag report will only show total sales per tag, not tagged sales per event.

Setting up Marketing Tracking Tags

  1. Visit the Marketing section in the admin
  2. Select Tracking Tags on the left hand navigation
  3. Select Create Tracking Tag
    1. Enter the tag (this will be public, added to the end of your event URL)
    2. Enter a description for the tag
      1. This is used for your internal purposes only, in order to help you identify what the tag is used for (ex. a certain promoter, your Facebook Page, etc.)
    3. You can also optionally assign the tag to a specific user in the system
  4. Once you have created a tracking tag, you can append it to the end of any event URL
    1. For example, if your event's URL is this: https://events.ticketbooth.com.au/event/my-event
Your URL with the tracking tag would look like this: https://events.ticketbooth.com.au/event/my-event/tag/Testing
  5. Click Save Tag to complete the setup process

The new Tracking Tag will now appear on the list of tags with the following options:

  1. Click Edit to edit each tag's settings (tag, description, user)
  2. Click Details to see a sale by sale report on each tag
  3. Click Get Link to get directions on how to use the tag to track sales
  4. Click Delete to delete a tag from your account

Dynamic Tags: The tagging system allows you to bypass the tag setup process by adding [/tag/your_tag_here] to the end of your event URL. That tag will automatically be created and added to your tags menu once a sale is processed with that tag.

Tracking Tags for Coupons

If a coupon is set as Usable as a Tag, the coupon code can be passed through a URL in the same format as a tracking tag and automatically applied to orders. Example:
