We have made various updates to our Box Office, bringing more product features and added security for your transactions. These updates may affect some organizers' ability to complete credit card transactions. Here’s what you need to know!
Magnetic stripe (“magswipe”) devices are no longer supported.
Here are several alternative options if your organization is still using Magswipes:
- You can continue making transactions using the Box Office, but credit card info must be manually entered
- You can create and post QR codes at your events so customers can easily link to your event page through their mobile devices to make purchases. Create a QR code for your event page with this QR code generator.
- Non-Stripe third-party merchant gateway clients can process payments through standalone EMV terminals
- Sales can then be logged in ShowClix using the cash type payment method called "Terminal." If you are interested in this method, please contact our support team.
- You can also convert to EMV chip readers if you haven't already (Stripe BBPOS WisePOS E or Stripe M2). EMV readers have become the industry standard for improving data security and are now the compatible devices for clients using a Stripe gateway in the Box Office.
