Upsells with Event Listings

This article covers how to configure event upsells with Event Listings (not classic checkout).

Upsells can be configured within the admin and assigned to one or more event listings. This will offer additional items to ticket purchasers (using an assigned listing) before completing checkout. 

Depending on the configuration, upsell offers could include additional tickets to the same carted event or tickets for other events.

Cart Mode is required to configure upsells. Please get in touch with support.

 

Creating Upsells

  1. Navigate to the Manage tab
  2. Select Listings Upsells in the left-hand menu
  3. Click from the left-hand menu or click the Create Upsell button in the module
  4. Select the Add Upsell Offer button in the upper right corner

You'll have the option to upsell Events, or Products. Products and Events have different configuration options (explained below).

Choose the events or products you want to upsell and click Select Events from the popup. Single events or event series may be chosen.

Setting The Order

  1. Select all the events you want to upsell to an event
  2. On the next step, you will be able to drag the upsold event in the order you want
  3. If you forgot to add an event, click the Add Event button

Event Upsell

Once you have selected the event(s) for the upsell offer, you will be able to configure specifics:

Appearance

Event Description - Event default, upsell offer custom, and collapsed / not collapsed.

Positioning

  • Embedded into registration - this will place the upsell offer within the checkout flow, before the payment step
  • Popup before registration - this will place the upsell offer in a popup between “Proceed to checkout” and completion of Registration / Payment info

What to Offer

  • Price Levels: Specific price levels may be offered in the upsell by deselecting the checkboxes on the left - all price levels are selected by default

Discounts: flat, fixed, or percent discounts may be offered in the upsell

Note: These are at the ticket level and will apply only to those tickets purchased through the upsell offer.

 

Upsell Matching

Upsell matching provides tools to limit upsells to offer specific items to customers based on what is currently in their shopping cart.

This is especially useful for series events upsells. Date/time pre-selection can be configured to an exact cart match or the next available date/time (with the same quantity as carted).

Product Upsell

Configure Upsell Offers of one or multiple products.

Layout

  • Show the upsell offer as a square thumbnail grid, or list view.  Both will show product image if available

Positioning

  • Embedded into registration - this will place the upsell offer within the checkout flow, prior to the payment step
  • Popup before registration - this will place the upsell offer in a popup between “Proceed to checkout” and completion of Registration / Payment info

Pricing

  • Offer flat, fixed, or percent discounts may be offered in the upsell
    • Note that discounts only apply to Products purchased through the upsell offer

Assign Upsells to Listings

You will assign an upsell offer to one or multiple listings on your event - once the display and offerings are configured, click the Save and Assign button at the bottom of the page.

On the Upsell Assignments, select the Add Assignment button in the upper right.

  • You will be able to select one or more event listing(s) from any future event
  • Once a listing has been assigned to an upsell offer, it can be enabled / disabled or removed from the listing completely (aka “unassign”)

Reporting

Columns, Filters, Groupings for Listing, Upsell Name, and Listing Upsell ID exist in Report Builder. 

Include these at will in report configurations to answer all of your reporting needs.
