Bing Conversion & Microsoft Ads Guide

Utilise Bing & Microsoft Ads to implement paid search and display ad campaigns, boosting your ticket sales and tracking performance by integrating the conversion code with your event listings.

 

We recommend using Bing & Microsoft Ads in addition to Google Ads, as it helps you reach a broader market. Without Bing & Microsoft Ads, you are missing out on about 30% of the search traffic in the US.

 

To set up your Bing & Microsoft Ads integration, please follow the instructions below:

Bing & Microsoft Ads Integration

Step 1

Create a new Bing & Microsoft Ads account if you do not already have one: https://ads.microsoft.com/

Step 2

Create a new Bing & Microsoft Ads conversion UET tag to track which ads, keywords, and campaigns are contributing to your ticket sales.

  1. Log in to Bing & Microsoft Ads
  2. Ensure you are using Expert Mode

    If you are not already in Expert Mode, from the side menu, select Upgrade to Expert Mode.

     
  3. Access through the Tools drop-down menu and then the Conversion Tracking sub-menu
  4. Click on UET tag
  5. When the page loads, click on the +Create button.
  6. Name your tag and click Next
  7. Click to install the tag yourself and click Next
  8. When the snippet appears, you can see your UET tag number as shown below.
  9. Click Next and then click Done
  10. Your UET tag number will also now appear on the UET tag landing page under the “Tag ID” column
  11. Take note of this UET tag number to place into Event Ticketing.

Step 3

Some users may wish to create a conversion goal.

  1. Under the Conversion Tracking tab, select Conversion Goals
  2. Select Create Conversion Goal
  3. Type a name for your conversion goal in the “Name” box, select the conversion type you wish to track, and click Next
  4. Fill in the appropriate values for the goal type you choose

Step 4

You will need to place your UET tag number on your event listing.

  1. Log in to the admin > Marketing > Marketing Accounts > Bing Conversion & Microsoft Ads
  2. Enter your Bing & Microsoft Ads UET ID
  3. Click Save

Chrome Extension

Download the Google Chrome extension for Microsoft UET Tag Helper.

Reminder that when using the UET, you must open the extension and turn "on" the tag helper. Then reload the page to begin testing.
