Google Analytics GA4

Configuring Google Analytics GA4 within Leap Event Ticketing.

Use Google Analytics to collect data from your website, your event listings, and any online marketing initiatives.

Set up GA4 in your Analytics Account

  • Navigate to Google Analytics https://analytics.google.com
  • After logging in or creating an account, select the admin button on the bottom left
  • Within the Account Settings property, select the GA4 SetUp Assistant Button (may also read Setup Assistant)
  • Select Setup a New GA4 Property
  • Select see your GA4 Property to be brought to the new GA4 property–it will open in a new tab.
    • The first page is the setup assistant. You will need to click Tag Installation to get your G-code for integration. This brings you to your data stream, which you can click through to find your Measurement ID.
    • Take note of this code, insert it into the Google Analytics 4 Marketing Accounts section of your admin.

In Event Listings, you can add up to three different G-codes. Just put a different G-code into each of the Measurement ID boxes (main, #2, and #3). All three G-codes will receive the same standard fired events. For example, all three codes would receive a "purchase" event fire.

Note: if you are using Classic Checkout, only the first measurement ID field is supported. Entering your G-code into field #2 or #3 will not be tracked or receive data for Classic Checkout events.

Once you have set up GA4 in Google Analytics, you may easily reference or make adjustments by returning to Google Analytics, clicking on the Admin button, Account Settings area, and then select

Enhanced Measurements GA4 Feature

While on the Stream Details page, it is recommended that you enable Enhanced measurement. This will ensure you benefit from all the GA4 reporting features.

  1. In the Events section, toggle on (blue check mark) Enhanced measurement.
  2. Click on the settings gear icon.
  3. On the list of Enhanced measurement, toggle on (blue check mark) all items as shown in the image below.
  4. Click Save.

You're done! Check back the next day to verify information is pulling as expected.

Google announces that all Google Universal Analytics (UA) services will cease functioning starting July 1, 2024.

On July 1, 2023, Google stopped processing Google Analytics using UA (Universal Analytics property). Users were informed to begin migrating to the new Google Analytics 4 (GA4) using G-Codes before this date.

On July 1, 2024, Google Analytics 4 properties will have entirely replaced Universal Analytics properties, as previously announced. From that date, Google will begin turning off all Universal Analytics services and Universal Analytics APIs, which means Universal Analytics properties will be inaccessible through the Google Analytics front-end and APIs. If you haven’t completely migrated to Google Analytics 4 properties, follow the migration guide to start switching today.
